LRC's best women's appearance at Arctic 5k-Kristen Werner

On 2/21/26, Kristen Werner finished the Arctic 5k with the second best women's time of all time making it the best LRC women's appearance ever at this race. The best time ever being Werner's older sister the spring before she went division 1. Werner's time of 24:19 on the challenging mountain course earned her the overall women's trophy. Werner joined LRC in pursuit of quality community that also enjoyed running.

In addition to Werner's outstanding performance, other members of LRC also performed well.

LRC's Isaiah White was the overall men's winner finishing with a time of 21:07. LRC's very own VP Joshua Stepp coming in second place at 22:06. LRC's NIRCA race coordinator, Jessica Dryer, finished third overall woman at 25:46.

Age group medal winners included: Cole Schwartz, Matthew Petke, Landon Owens, Jill Crunkilton, Lydia Hostetter, and Allie O'Leary.

Schwartz, LRC's president, achieved first in the 20-29 men's category at 22:51 with Petke finishing second at 23:58. Owens won 14-19 men's category at 23:06.

Crunkilton won women's category 20-29 with a time of 26:01. Hostetter and O'Leary achieved first and third in women's 14-19 running 27:53 and 29:52 respectively.

It was an excellent showing for the club and was injury free!
